While Harren Equity Partners professionals are not active in the day-to-day operations of our portfolio companies, they are proactively involved, both at the board level and through substantial on-site support. Harren is typically involved on a strategic or project level basis which allows the Company’s senior level management to continue to focus their time and attention on running the business. Harren professionals have completed a variety of assignments designed to achieve growth, improve profitability and optimize competitive positioning.
Specific initiatives have included:
- Installation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Resource Planning (MRP) and new general ledger accounting systems
- Focusing sales, marketing and engineering resources on strategic new business development opportunities
- Improving supply chain management including foreign sourcing opportunities
- Development and introduction of new product lines
- Establishing lean initiatives and statistical process controls
- Penetration of new distribution channels, new customers
- Leveraging Harren’s network of contacts to develop new business and further other significant strategic initiatives
- Recruiting a variety of C-level/senior executives
- Identification, execution and integration of strategic or product line acquisitions
These initiatives require a great deal of executive time over and above day-to-day responsibilities. Harren adds substantial value through its on-site assistance with the execution of these strategic initiatives and active participation with the actual work involved in order to accomplish such undertakings. Further, Harren’s experience with similar projects in other companies and our relationships with executives and consultants help to ensure that such undertakings are completed successfully, on time and on budget.
