Gene K. Ponder 
Gene K. Ponder is the founder and former President of Republic Industries, Inc., the fifth largest manufacturer of kitchen cabinets in the United States. He founded Republic Industries in 1975 and was the company’s President until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Ponder spent over 40 years in the kitchen cabinet industry and is widely regarded as one of the foremost experts in techniques for the manufacture and mass production of cabinets. Republic Industries is a former portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital; Mr. Carver was responsible for H.I.G.’s 1998 investment in Republic Industries and served on the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Ponder also served as a director of East Texas National Bank in Marshall, Texas.
