James C. Evans joined Harren Equity Partners in July 2008. James’ primary responsibilities include identifying and evaluating investment opportunities, closing and financing transactions, and monitoring the performance of Harren’s portfolio companies. 

Before joining Harren, James worked in the Media and Communications Corporate Finance Group at Wachovia Securities where he focused on financial and strategic transactions for companies in the newspaper, telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. James’ prior work experience also includes serving as a member of General Electric’s Financial Management Program in the Consumer & Industrial division, as a Summer Associate at Plainfield Asset Management and as Summer Real Estate Associate at Crosland, LLC. 

James earned a bachelor’s degree in information technology and a master’s degree in accountancy from the Calloway School of Business at Wake Forest University, and a M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

In his spare time, James enjoys reading, golf, running, traveling and motorsports.
